How to Get to South Padre Island Kiteboarding
Located on the tropical tip of Texas, getting here is easy. Whether you drive or fly, SPI is easily accessible. If traveling in by air, you can fly into Houston, or Dallas Fort Worth, and then onto one of three airports in the Rio Grande Valley. Ground transportation is available at all three airports along with most major car rental companies and taxi service. If traveling by car, the scenic route to the Island is made easy by well maintained four-lane highways. Corpus Christi is 3 hours north of South Padre Island. San Antonio is approximately 4 1/2 hours.

 

By Land
U.S. Highways 77, 281 or 83 -
Take Interstate 37 South from San Antonio to U.S. Hwy 77 south.
Then east on Texas Hwy 100 approximately 28 miles.

 

By Air

Directions to South Padre Island Kiteboarding from the Queen Isabella Causeway:
Turn Left/North off the Queen Isabella Causeway (the bridge) onto Padre Blvd. Travel north exactly 2.7 miles. As you keep an eye to your left or the Bayside of Padre Blvd. Once you’ve gone by the HUGE blue water tank you’ll know you are almost here. A little further you’ll see the South Padre Island City Hall and then the Post Office (both on your left). South Padre Island Kiteboarding is just several more blocks on the right side of Padre, between Verna Jean and Georgia Ruth Streets. We are between the 2 big yellow signs for PACIFIC BEACH WEAR and SHIP SHAPE. See you soon.
